They co-exist peacefully in most cases. I have Netscape 6.2, Mozilla
0.9.6 and nightlies installed and they share the same profile. If you
want to be on the safe side you can create a new profile exclusively for
the nightlies.
The Java plugin works fine in the nightlies as well. The easiest way in
Win32 is to add the following line
user_pref("plugin.do_JRE_Plugin_Scan",true);
in your prefs.js/user.js (using your favorite text editor) for Mozilla
to find the Java plugin.
Regarding installation: Download the nightly zip-file, unzip it into any
directory (for example c:\mozilla) and run the "mozilla.exe" found in
the \bin subdirectory.
