Mozilla on Linux - RPMs

Under windows the recommendation is to uninstall mozilla before 
installing a new version (e.g. 0.9.6 to 0.9.7). Under Linux using RPMs 
what is the procedure? Do you rpm -e current_mozilla first and then rpm 
-ivh new_mozilla or is it ok to simply upgrade using rpm -U?
