Works for me (both on windows and on linux).
I have 2 suggestions wich may help (i'm not shure):
1. try changing the preferences in Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Tabbed
Browsing.
2. try and create a clean profile (easiest is to move ~/.mozilla
directory and start mozilla again.
