Thanks for the suggestion.  I checked, and I have no user.js anywhere, 
so it must be something else.

I decided not to screw with it anymore and just made a new profile.  I'm 
slowly copying all my mail over and am in the process of recreating all 
of my settings, accounts, etc.

This is probably a good idea anyway, the old one must have a lot of 
excess baggage from nightlies, test builds, etc.
