They are, of course, *technically* very correct.

Heh, that's only the half of it too!  Inupiat Eskimos in Alaska
don't like to be called Inuit either, even though technically
they are indeed Inuit.  They virtually *never* refer to
themselves as "Inuit".

In fact the term "Eskimo" is the only proper word in the English
language which is inclusive of all Eskimo people, and should be
used when appropriate.  Inuit, Inupiat, and Yupik are terms that
are less inclusive and should be used when that is appropriate.
With Yupik it can be even more exclusive though...  Karl lives
with Yup'ik (Central Alaskan Yupik) people, but there are also
Alutiiq, Cup'ik, and Siberian Yupik peoples too.

It should also be noted that Eskimos are not hardly the only
"Aboriginal inhabitants of northern North America".  Athabascan
people are more numerous; plus there are Unangam (Aleut),
Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimsian people in Alaska.
