I also need to import backups on netscape/mozilla folders.

I can't seem to figure it out. Actually there are quite a few things
about mozilla mail I can't figure out.

The first question I have is what exactly do I copy over? Previous
posts say not to copy msf files (whatever they are), and I have tried
both with and without. What function do msf files play? If I am not
copying over these msf files, then how do I initialize the program so
it realizes that it has a mail file to read?

Secondly, user profiles v. mail profiles. I think I understand their
basic function. But are they stored in the same place? (prefs.js). Is
this file a safe one to edit? When Mozilla restarts, is it possible
that Mozilla would break as a result of a file modified by hand?

If I copy the old files named Inbox to mozilla, I have three choices.
1. put it under my "Roadrunner" mail account, and change the name of
Inbox to old_Inbox or something like that?
2. put it underneath the local folder
3. Create a new account just to read this old archived mail.

If I try option 1, then I need to restart mozilla for it to even be
seen on the GUI. And then I don't know how to command it to read into
memory the archived mail. GET MESSAGES gives an error code number
without explanation.

If I try option 2, then I don't know how to activate that too. What
exactly is the function of the local folder? Where you archive your
email? Where you access your email from other accounts?

If I create a new account just for the sake of including the old
archived mail, then obviously it will prompt me for pop information,
etc. The question boils down to: how do you tell Mozilla to scan local
files for email?
