I just did my first piece of hack on mozilla (fanfare) and created a patch that, if I read the mozilla code correctly, should at least add the context menu item... I'm not able to test it myself as my builds allways segfault (and I don't know why). My patch needs a little work to push in a working function to actually do the replying, but I think it's closer than nothing. can somebody that a wee look and perhaps do some improvements to it?
