Untrue. Netscape 6 uses the same email format as Netscape Communicator, it's called Unix mbox and is also compatible with any Unix mail/newsreader out there. The difference is the index files. Netscape Communicator (*.snm) uses a different index format than Netscape 6 (*.msf). These index files are not compatible. But that doesn't really matter, since you only need the mailboxes.
