suitability for large server software

Can someone point me to or give a couple sentence summary on
whether or not the current version of the netwerk/netlib is suitable
for use as a network library for a large server side project?

I've been looking at libwww and it seems to work well, but I'd like
to use something that was part of Mozilla if possible as it lends itself
to extension in other areas (security for example).
