Because it's useful. There must be many reasons why you might want to
present content based on the user's OS.

I am still not convinced that the current behaviour is a problem. As I
said, web-based attacks are not "targetted" - you just get as many people
as possible to visit the dodgy page and then try the attack on all of
them.
