It would be nice for mozilla to have full byterange support including
proper caching of partial files (status code 206) for my plugin and I
know adobe needs this for the acrobat plugin.

Acrobat has millions of installs and mine only has about 10,000. I'll
get mine working anyway but it seems acrobat is functioning as a helper
app only. Maybe not. If they are successfully using byteranges I would
be curious to find out how.

Being desperate to get my mozilla plugin working without depending IE's
undependable closed source routines, I searched high and low
(sourceforge) and took a closer look at the cURL library. It turns out
that it quite compact and usable on all the platforms I'm targeting. Our
current users are all on win32, I hope that changes.

Thanks for your assistance. I know you guys are very busy. I'll keep an
eye on the news groups for improvements.
