It's an internal codename for a particular release. It's quite unfortunate
that something so ephemeral got embedded in this newsgroup name, but in part
we purposely chose an obscure newsgroup name to avoid the tons of off-topic
posts in .general that were driving all the developers off.
I believe a properly generic name is used for the equivalent group once the
massive renamings occur (don't ask me when, still waiting for news server
support).
