  I cannot edit the registry.dat file without destroying it. It seems to 
be some binary derivative - definetely not  a pure text file.After 
opening it in notepad and find/replacing all users50 with Profiles 
(editing prefs.js went OK), Mozilla opens without ANY profile and asks 
whether i want to (re-)import my old NC4 profile :(

There must be a way to migrate my existing profiles.
