I really like the tabbed browser, but to me it is unacceptable to have the
lock icon and security properties dialog show invalid information (see
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101723 ). Regretfully, this bug
has caused me to stop using the tabbed interface. I suggest two things:

1. Drop the tab interface until this problem is solved. The number of
duplicate bug reports shows that this issue is a problem for many users.
More worrisome are the users who are not aware of this problem and think the
icon is telling them the correct information. II do not think it is
sufficient to mention it in the release notes, they are too likely to go
unread or forgotten.

2. Make fixing this problem a high priority. I understand the 1.0
manifesto's argument for "no new features", but this feature really gives
people a good reason to use Mozilla instead of another browser. Again, the
high number of duplicate reports shows that lots of people want to use this
feature, but they need the security information to work right.

Perhaps a solution is to drop the tabbed browser from the main product for
now, but work more closely with the Multizilla project (
http://multizila.mozilla.com/ ) to provide this feature as an add-on. That
removes a risk factor for the 1.x milestones while still addressing the
demand for this feature.
