Using Mozilla 1.0 (build ID 2002053012) I've been getting strange behavior.

>From a number of sites, when I attempt to download a file, I get a file
which scans positive from my virus checker.

I can see the file shows up as an ".exe" file type when downloaded.

When I use another browser, the downloaded file is not an .exe file, and it
doesn't scan positive for a virus either.

Routine virus scans don't show my system as being infected, but I'm a bit
alarmed. I'm thinking this may be related to

s/anti-virus.html+mozilla+virus&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

but I'm not sure.

My current plan is to uninstall Mozilla and reinstall the latest version,
but I'm wondering if there is anything else I should do to ensure the
integrity of my system.

Advice and more information would be appreciated. I'll hold off for a short
time before I blow any files away and uninstall, on the offchance that some
information might be useful to someone investigating the security issue.

I'm guessing from the sketchy news that some javascript file may be the
culprit, but I'm not sure where it would be located.

I'm still hoping that Mozilla will turn out to be better security wise than
IE. Active X controls are particularly scary.

ps - please post rather than email. I rarely read my email, which is chock
full of spam.
