Well Cactus, that depends on the software. I don't know how PC-Cillin works, but other Anti-Virus software usually works in one of two ways, either scanning the files that are created in the TEMP directory while the email and/or attachment is being opened, and those that act as the POP client for the emails and relays those to the email program. The first don't actually scan the emails as they arrive, they scan the files that are created by those emails for virii. They are effective with programs like Outlook Express that saves the messages in the TEMP directory as it opens them. The other types act as the POP client and as a POP server for the email program. This means that if you checked your account settings for your email program, you will see the server was the local machine. This is because the AV program is waiting for the email client to request email, then it will connect to your POP server (the actual one) and get the email, scan it, then hand it to the email program as if it was the POP server. You would need to check how PC-Cillin works, if it works like the first, it shouldn't be a problem, but if it is one of the second, you may have to manually configure the email server settings in Mozilla for it to us the AV program for it's POP server.
