Mozilla often detects password changes on websites. If not, delete the password and log in at the site again and accept to store the new password.
You cannot look up old passwords this way, nor is that a good idea IMO, because it might lead users to trust Mozilla with the master database of their passwords, which is a bad idea (TM) as stated in my last post.

You can, however, take the Mozilla code for the password manager and create a custom password manager as addon/XPI. mozdev will surely be happy to host your project.
