Therfore my question: Does adblock prevent firefox from starting a connection with servers like doubleclick?
Or do I need some other program here? If yes, which?

Don't know enough of how adblock works to answer the first part, but something you can do that will affect ANY program on your computer and not just firefox is edit your hosts file. You can tell your computer that doublick.net points to 127.0.0.1 so you'll never make a connection to them (unless it's IP based).
Linux = /etc/hosts
Windows location varies....there's a nice installer a guy made with a lot of entries here:
