there would be a nicer way to separate between safe ("normal") and unsafe urls using punycode imho. If the user tries to load an unsafe page, Firefox could check if there is a safe URL looking similar to the url the user requested. This shouldn't be too hard, all that's needed is something like a mapping from all unicode characters to the non-punycode characters. If there is a similar looking, but safe page, Firefox could display e.g. "Firefox thinks that the page you want to visit could be faked because the following address looks similar to it, but doesn't contain special characters: ...". Let the user have the choice!
