More investigation:
The Gentoo ebuild which I am using, extracts all the files for building
xmlextras. I'm thinking that my original problem (that this
component isn't installed) is due to the build settings. Although it
seems odd that I can't install these components [after] building...
Yes. I have it fixed now. It was a problem with the Gentoo build
settings.
