Thanks to both of you for your suggestions, but neither one did the 
trick.  Depending on when and how I called it, loadSubScript would fail 
in one way or another.  Sometimes it would appear to execute correctly 
but the functions declared in the subscript still were not brought into 
the calling context.

For now I am just cutting and pasting the bits of code I need.  Thanks 
anyway!
