I have a similiar need. I want to write my functional automated tests (a la xUnit) against the mozilla browser. I've tried HTMLUnit and others with no success. Generally because the javascript processing in these frameworks suck.
I've done the same thing with IE using COM, but now I need a cross platform solution. I was hoping to use PyXPCOM to drive the application. Like Bill, I don't want to embed the browser (and have to supply all the "drivers" like Chrome, Progress, etc). I just want to control a running instance (or fire one up). Typical use case is: 1. Connect to mozilla 2. force the load of a URL 3. walk the DOM to find my controls. 4. populate with text/click buttons/etc 5. If there was javascript associated with any of the events I trip, have it process (normal browser operation) 6. rinse and repeat 1-6 Any information, code snippits, examples, pointers, bread crumbs would be greatly appreciated. -Z _______________________________________________ Mozilla-xpcom mailing list [email protected] http://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mozilla-xpcom
