The general consensus among XPCOM developers AFAIK is that a socket is the
easiest and usually best choice for this. Just connect to localhost (or
127.0.0.1) and have your component and application communicate over the port
of your choice.

Also, if you don't want to use sockets for some reason, you can always look
into other IPC methods available on windows (pipes, memory-mapped files,
etc.)

I want to develop FireFox Extension to communicate between FireFox and 
Windows Application. With Internet Explorer, I can use ActiveX/COM method. I

am a newbie of FireFox developer.

I have writen the codes for FireFox extension, it can get the informaion 
that I need from FireFox webpage, Unfortunately, I don't know how to 
transfer the data from FireFox extension to My Windows Application.
