Yes, this is MPEG-2 AAC. I remember discussing this with visitors
to my web site about a year ago when they first appeared at chaosmusic.com
They ran an ad campaign on my site and insisted they be
referred to as MP4 files. (Probably because MP4 sounds like a logical
sucessor to MP3).
