I''ve been a fan of PRT since I first heard about it several years ago. One
clear advantage is not often discussed in detail, though. It could be
funded without huge public subsidies, like our other urban transportation
is. Imagine a "licence" granted by the Minneapolis City Council to create a
local monopoly of PRT service, funding itself from investment capital, and
paying a franshise fee to the city in return for the city clearing the path
for PRT to be built. I think this is a most attractive proposal.
