I would guess that most of your increase was because you lost your homestead
exemeption and most of the rest was from an increase in your property value.
The school board levy was only a continuation of an existing tax.   The
increases for the Library and Park boards would be minimal.

The homestead exemption was inaugurated in the late 1960s or early 1970s
with the idea that if rental property taxes were higher then more people
would become home owners.   We actually believed that.  It didn't work out
that way, and the only result of the dual rate system is that poor people
(renters) end up paying more for housing.  The best laid plans of mice and
men...
