I can't begin to tell you how happy I was when I opened my new Reliant Energy (a.k.a. Minnegasco) bill and saw the announcement that "effective January 1, 2001, the Minneapolis franchise fee on your residential account increased from 4% to 4.25%." Consumption is up due to colder weather. Rates are higher due to supply and demand. Franchise fee is up due to a conscience decision by our elected public officials. Could someone please post the city council vote, by member, when this franchise fee increase was voted on? I would like to know who to hold accountable on this issue this coming November 6th.
