I think two things contributed to low turnout in the Eighth Ward: People were
fairly certain that Herron would get the endorsement since Lilligren was not a
serious threat, nor was Gutzmer and Miller jumped in at the lat minute at the
behest of Lisa McDonald. Then, it wa the first gorgeous Saturday of the year.
Herron had it in one which gave us half and day to go outside and play if we went
to the convention. If we didn't, it was a whole day to play in the warm.
