Although Steve Minn is certainly qualified to clarify for himself, if I remember 
correctly, Steve Minn was not technically a Republican on the Council.  He was an  
independent, much like Council Member Lane.  He simply espoused more fiscally 
conservative beliefs, hence being considered by many a Republican that simply did not 
actively seek the endorsement.
