The first point I would make is that sports (including cycling) are considered a
cultural aspect of our community life.
There is a velodrome (bicycle track) in Blaine. I would not advocate for one to
be built in the Mpls. Though it would be nice.
If I thought by building a stadium would end this discussion for 100+ years, I
think it would be worth it, I would rather see a game outside aswell. But I know
that we? will WANT another stadium in 25 years because this one isn't quite
right.
My second point only a minority would understand and fewer still would agree
with.
That point is that four trees (of highway 55 fame) were cut down in Dec of '99
were a cultural aspect, a very unique cultural aspect to our community,
including the Dakotah Indian community.
When your community recognizes my cultural significant areas, I will recognize
yours. I would even throw down money.
When we respect all cultural aspects of this city, then we will make some
headway and create a vision for a world class city.
Until then were still in 1862.
