DeWayne had this to say -- "I just cannot figure out why the Republicans hate
Minneapolis -- "

Of the 12 LRT systems built in the past 20 years, millions of people who love their
respective cities also opposed LRT systems planned to be built in their cities. A very
large share of the oppostion folks were devout Democrats.

The fact that LRT is under construction is not driving me insane. My appreciattion
for Mpls will not wane when -- and if -- LRT is completed. I oppose LRT because it
will
not do what it is advertised to do. I don't like to see my taxes wasted on frivolous
adventures.

Big tobacco is paying hundreds of billions in damages to states because they allegedly
perpetrated a fraud. Who will pay up when we learn of the fraud perpetrated by
wrong-headed federal transportation policy?

My perspective is simple -- tell the truth to taxpayers. Whatever the expenditure of
taxpayer money is supposed to accomplish, shouldn't taxpayers expect it to do so at the
least cost and more effectively than any other alternative? Federal, state, and local
transit experts cannot honestly tell you that LRT fulfills these obligations.
