It went to four ballots, after which there was a motion to suspend the
rules and adjourn.  It was supported by both campaigns and (mercifully)
passed easily.  I think at this point RT had forty-nine percent and Sharon
forty-eight-point-something.  Both candidates were in the fortieth
percentile in all ballots.  

It was a stunning result, considering that five days ago, the Strib said,
"Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton will walk into the DFL Party's city
convention Saturday favored to come away with a quick endorsement of her
bid for a third term." 

I got a new shirt today, too.  It shows a target and says, "Minneapolis
gave Target $127 million and I didn't even get a lousy T-shirt."
