I am indeed saddened to hear of the Park Board's evil and
dastardly scheme to forever spoil that wild and scenic river,
Minnehaha Creek, with bicycle path improvements. Might I suggest that
the federal funds you southside greens will be refusing in your
crusade to preserve that primordial stream be diverted to the
Northside, where many of our best creeks are buried.
For decades we Northsiders have dreamed of daylighting
Bassett's Creek. Absent a funding source, the only means we've had
involves something like a large propane leak, an evacuation, and an
ignition source. Being pretty much nonviolent, we Northsiders haven't
exercised that option. So I and I'm sure many other Northsiders will
support you southside greens in your struggle to preserve your wild
and scenic Minnehaha Creek- provided we get the federal funds you're
passing on!
