So, if I extrapolate from this;

If a young woman, sporting bruises, came into my office asking me to help
her with a divorce and later started to back down saying, "But he says he
loves me", "But I love him", "well, it's my fault really." I should just
ignore the external evidence, accept both of them at the unequivocal word
and say, "Oh, well, if it's really your fault, then I guess we don't have
a case. Go home and live happily ever after."
If people really could communicate as ideally as you set forth, it would
be one heck of different world. They don't. Language is imprecise.
People are imprecise. I really wish I could depend on family, friends and
clients to be able to express themselves and their desires precisely and
with clear knowledge of their own ego, id, and desires. It would make my
life a lot easier.
Language alone will not solve our problems.
