Ron Edwards assessment is correct about the established black leadership on the northside of Minneapolis. Edwards said," The refusal of the so-called established black leadership to support Johnson Lee did not come across well in the last three or four weeks of the campaign." Some of these so called black leaders mocked Johnson Lee bid to unseat Cherryhomes. They did not think she had a chance in winning the race for the 5th Ward. Now that she has won the battle, they feel foolish and embarrassed. The Coalition of Black Churches and African American Leadership Summit does not reflect the wide viewpoints and perspectives of the African American community in the Minneapolis by far!!! --
