March 14, 2002 Bob Lind, manager mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] MCDA Business Finance (612) 673-5068 TTY: (612) 673-5154 #02-06 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MCDA RECOGNIZES PARTNERS AT LENDERS BREAKFAST (MINNEAPOLIS) - At its annual Business Lenders Recognition Breakfast, Friday, March 15, 2002, the Minneapolis Community Development Agency (MCDA) will recognize Associated Bank and Franklin Bank as MCDA's two leading small-business lending partners in 2001. MCDA will also recognize the following major 2001 lending partners: Wells Fargo Bank, Western Bank, Fidelity Bank, Northeast Bank and EastBank. Special guest Mayor R.T. Rybak will present the awards at the breakfast, which will be held at the Minneapolis Urban League's Glover-Sudduth Center, 2100 Plymouth Avenue North. "All of the lending partners play an important role in helping Minneapolis achieve its community and economic development goals," said Rybak "Their commitment of time, energy and dollars provides the foundation for enduring public-private partnerships." Arthur Rolnick will be the featured speaker at the March 15 event. Rolnick is Senior Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He will speak on "An Economic Outlook for 2002, Impacts on Small Business." MCDA Interim Executive Director Chuck Lutz will recognize 57 commercial loan officers who partnered with MCDA in 2001. In 2001, 30 area banks provided a total of $15.2 million for 107 MCDA-assisted business projects. MCDA-assisted loans range from a $10,000 Micro loan (provided in cooperation with the Minneapolis Consortium of Community Developers) to a $2.8 million SBA 504 loan. ### The Minneapolis Community Development Agency (MCDA) is the housing and economic development arm of the City of Minneapolis.
