With all the heavy talk on the list lately, I agree
with Erik Reise that we could use some levity. So, in
recognition that April is National Poetry month (even
though T.S. Eliot called it the cruelest), I've found
a Mpls-related topic.

What's your favorite spot in Minneapolis for poetry?

For me, it's the U of M, where I learned most of what
I know about poetry, and especially Lind Hall, home of
the English department. The late great Gordon O'Brien
had a great voice for reading poetry, and I never
heard anything funnier in the classroom than his
pronunciation of the word "harlot."

Here's a brief poem (I feel like Garrison Keillor),
not necessarily my favorite:

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--
It gives a lovely light.
(Edna St. Vincent Millay)
