Every time a read a SW Journal I wonder how we could get the Sun Current
Newspapers to offer a replacement paper. Their newspaper is much more
community oriented, and filled with "happy news".
<snip>

I can't tell you the number of calls I have received from folks who live in Edina, Minnetonka, Hopkins, Golden Valley -- the list goes on -- who have begged us to start publishing in their communities. Since I've never lived in a suburb and have no desire to, my heart remains in Minneapolis. (It used to wait in San Francisco, but that's another story.)

I'm very proud to have David Brauer as editor of the Journal and Skyway News. He is determined to raise the Skyway to the level of the Journal -- and those of us who enjoy reading "real" newspapers will benefit from his vision and hard work. David's response to Joel's original post tells the story of how well the Journal covers SW Mpls.

As for our advertisers, Southwest Minneapolis happens to be home to lots of folks with higher-than-average incomes. Smart advertisers recognize that fact and use the Journal to reach the people who live here. Their advertising dollars make it possible for us to distribute the paper free to every SW Mpls resident.
