In the absence of Brother Paul I'm gonna take on some of this.

It is preposterous to think Minneapolis has the worst Police Officers around. What it is really is the hyperbole of a few people with axes to grind against Minneapolis Police
officers.

WM: There are many more people who have suffered from police brutality in Mpls. than just a few who may or may not have axes to grind. Also, when one has been beaten up, it's only natural to have an ax to grind. To deny that puts one in league with the flat earthers. At the same time, to say that all police roughhouse treatment is the officer's fault is also a flat earth notion. I've watched people make it impossible for the police not to treat them roughly and I've watched cops be respectful when I would have gone for a punch in the nose in the same position. (Well, let's say I would have tried something stupid, not that I would accomplish it.)

Respect is a two way street.

WM: Could you repeat that about 183 times?

Do we need better trained, more professional officers? Of course! Remember
these are mostly suburban and small town people with two year educations and
possibly some military background.

WM: I'm not sure this is true any longer among younger cops. I think they are often better educated than the two years of required course work.
