I believe that the school board votes both for hiring Ms. Peebles and for approving her contract were unanimous votes. (I could be wrong, but the board meeting minutes for the June and July meeting are not on the website yet.) I also read somewhere (the Strib?) that the board had not seen the full contract before the vote and only had the documents they received for a few hours before the vote. I wonder how truly educated about the contract the board was when they voted.

Ouch. I can understand your distaste for the inadequacies of this recent decision, but try to find out who of the incumbents voted against this and keep them. Toss out the rest.

I do have some anarchistic tendencies and think term limits are a good thing. That and considering the ineptness of our government bodies right now to work for the people, maybe every elected official needs tossing out right now.

I want to believe that this was not unanimously voted on by the board, but I may have missed something along the way. Can anyone fill us in on what board member voted what way?

Or maybe my perspective just needs to be adjusted. Instead of believing
in the good of civic-minded citizens and politicians, and expecting high
ethics and morals, I should realize the system has been, is and always
will be corrupt and greed-centered. Then I can simply focus on getting
my share of the public trough, and when I start cashing my six-figure
government checks, I can say, "Well I got mine; screw the rest of you all."
