I am writing this email from Porto Allegre, Brazil where I am attending a four day workshop on citizen participation in local budgeting. I thought that my friends in Minneapolis might be interested to know, that after lunch (here in Brazil) - a researcher from the Kennedy School of Government will be presenting a paper on the Minneapolis Neighborhood Redevelopment Program as one of six case studies being considered at this international meeting.

There are about 40 participants at this workshop representing 18 different countries.

I'm curious about how the community activists on the ground in Minneapolis feel about the NRP program being held up as an international example? Also, can anyone update me on the future of the program?

I'm a little disappointed, that don't know more about the NRP program from my neighboring city. Any comments?

Best wishes,
