It is interesting to see that REp Phyllis Kahn starts off with the statement that George Janssen's post is outrageous. Tying it to Kerry and the Swift boat is a feeble attempt to downplay his explanation of events within the MPRA. "I have been told" is a terrible way to promote or discount what Janssen had to say in his post. This whole MPRA thing of alleging one has been removed from the MPRA for violating the bylaws and abusing female staff members is also a simple fabric of some member’s imagination. I recall when two of our members were removed from our board by a majority vote. This was a capmaign initiated by three (3) retired members living out of state who did not attend the meeting where the issues took place. These three then began a hefty call up campaign focused to recall these two board members on the charge of violating the bylaws and trying to take over the board. The allegations were totally false. I attended the meeting in question and the message given to the membership was a twisting and turning of facts causing dissent and alarm among the retired membership. Members not really knowing what went on, put their trust into what they were hearing about the conduct of these two board members and blindly voted to impeach them. Ever since my retirement from the police department I have been aware of what has been transpiring by attending meetings and reading correspondence relating to what is known as the Technimar investment. This investment was not only made by the MPRA but by the Minneapolis Fire Relief fund, the Minneapolis Police Benevolent fund (which had to file dissolution due to the heavy investment in Technimar), the Minneapolis Police Federation (which had to raise dues to remain solvent also due to the heavy investment in Technimar) , the State of Minnesota. a group of Minneapolis Police Officers, and last but not least the city of Cohasset, MN whose taxpayers were left with a new manufacturing warehouse made specifically for the Technimar product and a subsequent large tax obligation. Janssen and many other retired members have initiated a lawsuit dealing with the boards activities on this Technimar issue. There were two separate lawsuits, one has been dismissed on technicalities and the other one remains under consideration. It has gone from District Court to the MN Court of Appeals to the State Supreme Court then back to the Court of Appeals and now it is back in the State Supreme Court waiting to be affirmed so the case can be heard before the courts on what happened through this horrible set of circumstances. One past board member, Gerald Bridgeman, stated quite some time ago that if anyone has evidence of wrongdoing then have them bring it to court. That is precisely what these members have been trying to do and have experienced our own MPRA fighting the effort for it to be heard in court, all the time frequently referring to it as a frivolous action. I would caution people such as Phyllis Kahn not to respond to "What I have been told as the basis for condemnation of another. Bill Lundquist REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
