Opps, I fired off too soon:

from:
http://www.delasalle.com/Island%20Proposal%20rev%20Mar%202.pdf

"With staging and seating areas, opportunities for outdoor fine arts
programs for all students and the broader community"

and

"We have an opportunity to expand the campus footprint at this time – and in
so
doing, potentially improve the school’s athletic facilities and outdoor
staging
opportunities for fine arts programs."

Is there an proven need for outdoor staging opportunities for fine arts
programs? What about the outdoor amphitheater on the other end of the
Island? Has this proven to be inadequate?

Subject: [Mpls] Stadium as Outdoor Arts Facility?

from DeLaSalle High School's web site at:
http://www.delasalle.com/Island%20Proposal%20rev%20Mar%202.pdf

"Our intent is to build a multi-purpose athletic and outdoor Arts facility
adjacent to
DeLaSalle."

I could not find any other clarification of what an "outdoor Arts facility"
means. Does anyone know?

Subject: [Mpls] Yelling Fire in a crowded room/ more info

I have just talked to the Fire Marshall Dave Dewall and he has talked to
the
Chief about an official finding. There is no official finding, or official
letter sent to DeLaSalle about this issue from the Chief.

But trying to look at the big picture and to try to make sure I am not
generating more heat than light about this subject.
It may be a non issue if the Fire Department determines that there is no
significant loss to access and safety. The Fire Marshall offered to come to
public meetings to speak about this and this to explain their process and
how
they make decisions.

>From my conversations, I would surmise that when a formal review is done
that the access and safety issues on the Island can be probably be
addressed
with or without the closure of Grove Street.
