We have new tenants from hell in the house on the corner. The same house where last year's tenant terrorized the whole neighborhood. The yard over there is now full of trash with liquor bottles lining the ledge on the front porch. Lovely! They have "taken their business" out in the street on several occasions since they moved in. Unfortunately for the surrounding neighbors it always seems to be after midnight. Why do some people have to wait until the wee hours of the morning to fight with each other? And why would you want all the neighbors to hear all your business? I just don't get that. This group has already threatened to shoot two different families of neighbors on the block. At least one of them actually called 911 and reported it. Pretty common M.O. here. An nondescript woman moves in the place a couple months ago. Seems quiet. Has a couple of very young kids. They get to watch Mommy's boyfriend and his buddies rolling doobies and smoking blunts on the porch. The kids are running wild on the street with no supervision while Mommy sits up in the house if she is even there and they are all of 2 yrs. old. Great parenting! Let's the boyfriend move in with her. Little by little his posse arrives and before you know it they set up shop and start livin' large. Hot town, summer in the city. So, the work has started. I have watched from the window, taken leisurely strolls to gather license plates and people's descriptions. I have called the CRT Team, called the landlord, organized my neighbors, e-mailed everyone I could and given them the numbers to call. Like I have time to do all this. Hope no one in my house gets shot. It gets really old. But, if you don't do it, the problem just grows and grows and grows. There should be a law. Oh ya, there is. If I didn't love my house and this neighborhood so much I would move. Wish the thugs would move instead! Barb Lickness Whittier
