This workshop is designed to introduce local, regional,
and state government officials and non-profit organizations
to some of the latest work being done in the area of online
citizen engagement, government consultations and e-rulemaking
in the United States and abroad. We will highlight examples
of successful online consultations and talk about the
latest trends.

We'll address such questions as:

  * Pro's and con's of online engagement
  * Ethical considerations
  * What tools to use
  * What makes for a successful consultation
  * E-Rulemaking

This workshop is being held in conjunction with a
national meeting about "Online Deliberative Democracy"
being held at the Humphrey Institute and will include
