This year's 14 percent primary voter turnout is way off from 2001 - but as everyone remembers, that primary was held on September 11, 2001. Turnout then was higher than normal and people speculated that many who left work felt like voting was the most patriotic thing they could do that day - hence the higher turnout. How does this year's turnout percentage compare to the 1997 primary? (Side note - my wife and I moved from Powderhorn to Standish-Ericcson - and reregistered when we changed our drivers licenses - over six months ago. Neither of us showed up as pre-registered at our new precinct yesterday morning. My take: Kiffmeyer's got to go in '06. Go Mark Ritchie!) -Paul C. Rohlfing Standish-Ericcson W12 P8 REMINDERS: 1.
