Many thanks to all those friends and city-wide neighbors who came out and
participated in the “Vigil against Violence” last night. Special thanks to
Joan Menken, Council Member Zerby and Council Member Samuels who were invited
to
speak, and to Brett Miller, Pastor of SouthEast Christian Church for hosting
leading our prayer. To the leaders that came and know that last night was
not about political campaigns but about honoring Tom Dahl and remembering the
many others from across the City who have been the victims of crime in our
city. We urge those who attended and those like: Walt Dziedzic park board
commissioner; Cara Letofsky, council candidate for ward 2; Melanie Pogatchnik,
4th
ward council write-in candidate; Peter McLaughlin, Hennepin County
commissioner & mayoral candidate; to connect with other neighbors and elected
officials to continue to make safety and connecting our neighborhoods a top
priority.
