November 21, 10:00 a.m., northeast corner of Chicago and Lake. Official
celebration of the opening of the first repaved section of Lake St.
(from 14th to 5th Avenues).
Should be fun unless it cold and rainy. It's been a slice watching how
the work gets done and what it entails to repave a street from the base.
I'll be celebrating the fact that it's done and we won't have to hear
the big machinery backing up at 6:50 a.m. anymore--or feeling it do its
thing in the public street. Such caterwauling by mechanical beasts!
