So what else is new? Ward 12 is bought and sold...says something about
politics and
the people who run for office. Note.. the vote was 6-1 and after all the
campaigning against
the Flats, someone would have noticed the neighborhood did not want this
project.
So it is finally coming out...slightly late but perhaps now people will see
that our
elected officials are influenced by money and money is the driving force of
politics.
Since Carol is on the planning commission, she should not be able to vote on
any of the
projects by developers who gave that type of money to PIPs.
Also would like to comment on the Arne Carlson, Governor.. piece of lit.
that was sent
out to 12. No return address, no disclaimer. Who paid for that piece of lit?
Where did
it come from?

"Pro-development faction on park board got big 11th-hour financial help"
http://citypages.com/databank/26/1303/article13891.asp
At the last Park District 5 candidate forum hosted by Longfellow
neighborhood I noted, "If you're
not concerned about the excessive influence of developers in our city,
then you're not paying
attention."
Ironic that two wealthy developers would contribute $10,000 each to the
"People for Independent
Parks", whose direct mails and lit drops formed the single largest factor
in my election loss.
One of these developers, Paul Klodt, is promoting a massive development in
Ward 12. Klodt is now
a major contributor to the elections of Council Member Colvin Roy and Park
Commissioner Kummer.
Ms. Kummer sits on the Planning Commission, which was to vote on the
Hiawatha Flats development
just 6 days after the election. Not supported by the community or the
commission as a whole, Ms.
Kummer voted in favor of the development in a 6:1 vote.
