My understanding from commerceQuest is that it is just marketing. If your
shop already has license arrangements with Tivoli the agreement will allow
you to stay under the same umbrella.

Subject: CommerceQuest DI vs. Tivoli Data Exchange

Greetings,

Thanks to several of my fellow list members (Scott & Jonas), I was
enlightened to the fact that the CommerceQuest Data Integrator and Tivoli
Data Exchange are, in fact, the same product.  An OEM agreement was put in
place in 4Q01 to allow Tivoli (IBM) sell the DI product under the Tivoli
name.  The next obvious question is this:

Why would I choose one over the other?

Does it make sense for an existing Tivoli shop to go w/ TDE?
Should I lean towards the original developer of the software and go with
CommerceQuest?
Or is it really just a mute point?

Anyone w/ experience in making this decision is encouraged to respond.  I
would also challenge both vendors to explain why I should choose their
product over the other.

I am anxiously awaiting your responses!

Cheers,
  Art
